Basic Vanilla Buttercream

This recipe is enough to frost an 8-inch layer cake. Scale to fit your project needs!
Ingredients
- 6 sticks Unsalted Butter, room temperature
- 9 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Directions
- Step 1 Beat butter until fluffy
- Step 2 Add powdered sugar a little at a time until combined
- Step 3 Add vanilla extract and raise speed to medium-high
- Step 4 Beat until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes
- Step 5 Add any desired food coloring, and beat until evenly incorporated
