Humble Beginnings

I am… a decent baker. I certainly love to bake, and when you are on the receiving end of my baking, it means you are loved. However, I find myself baking the same few things over and over again, so I’ve come up with a plan to burst my baking rut! As my New Year’s Resolution this year, I’ve challenged myself to bake 101 things in an effort to bake more, to bake better, and to write about the experience along the way. I have no doubts that by the end of this project, I will be a better baker and I will learn way more than I thought I would.

For starters, I’ve learned that blogging isn’t easy or cheap, so there’s that.

Here’s my promise to myself: I never want to be inauthentic in this blog. I’ve never really loved the illusion of perfection in the social media world we live in, and that’s 100% because I know what a hot mess I am most of the time! I absolutely know that not everything I attempt is going to be spectacular. I also know I have no idea how to photograph food (or anything else–I still haven’t gotten the hang of selfies!) I hope that whoever finds this will appreciate the failures as much as the successes. I’m all about the journey here, folks!

If, at the end of the day, no one reads this but my mom, (Hi Mom! I love you!) I’ll still be pretty proud of myself for completing a pretty ambitious goal and for taking something I love to a higher level. Hopefully, it can be entertaining for others out there, too!
